Careers Coach – A New Online Careers Tool

In conjunction with Gloucestershire County Council and partners in the DWP and Growth Hub, GFirst LEP has recently launched the online “Careers Coach” careers platform hosted via the Gloucestershire Skills Portal.

Careers Coach is an easy to use online tool which offers support to young people currently in education across Gloucestershire to explore their career aspirations, and to view up to date local and national labour market information about the jobs and employment sectors that interest them.

Using a personalised assessment tool, young people in schools and colleges can find out more about the jobs of most interest to them, and can access a virtual library of key information and data about almost 30,000 recognised UK job titles.

Careers Coach supplies fingertip information about jobs and careers in terms of salary, location of jobs, and the types of skills and qualifications expected by employers to be employed in these roles, blending this with real time job postings from across the county.

Of relevance to young people seeking their first jobs, and helping them to prepare for future ones, Careers Coach also offers a C.V. building tool. Whilst primarily functioning to help create a useful C.V. it is also a helpful tool to record experience and qualifications making it easier to complete other application forms.
