GFirst LEP Education and Skills Team launch the new NexusGlos portal. Offering support to young people considering what their next or future steps might be. Free 1:1 careers, advice and guidance meetings now available for booking.
Initially as a response to the Gov Annexe B guidance around support for young people with training, pastoral and transitions, the GFirst Education and Skills Team have developed a new online portal with the preliminary purpose to provide student support and guidance on their next steps and what the local offer is. The wider scope of the portal will be to deliver a range of careers, employability and destination provision and this content will continue to be developed and updated.
The www.NexusGlos.co.uk website has now been live for over a week, offering support to young people considering what their next or future steps might be and signposting them to other useful sites. The most recent addition to the site, in partnership with Adviza, is the opportunity to book a 1:1 careers, advice and guidance meeting with a qualified adviser. This is a free service and will be available for the next two weeks via the NexusGlos website, aimed at Gloucestershire students 11-19, specifically targeted at those who are considering their options or next steps but open to all.
If you or you know someone who is struggling to understand what their next options are, what opportunities are available and how to access these, then a careers meeting could be invaluable. To book, head to our NexusGlos website here and click on ‘not sure?’. Please get in touch with the team if you have any questions, firstname.lastname@example.org
We will continue to develop the NexusGlos portal over the summer and throughout the next academic year, populating the website with further resource and opportunities for our local network. The aim is to host virtual work experience/insight days, industry focus weeks and live events within this platform. We envisage the site becoming a hub for local students to explore their options and connect with providers, as well gaining insight and guidance on careers and employability and links to local business.
If this sounds like something you would like to get involved with please contact the team on email@example.com
